What is on-site alcohol sales?
The sale of alcohol for on-site consumption is one of the types of alcohol business. This is the sale of alcohol directly to the buyer for consumption, use right at the point of sale. To trade alcohol under this activity, traders must meet all the conditions in accordance with regulations.
Pursuant to Decree No. 105/2017/ND-CP on alcohol trading and Decree 17/2020 ND-CP, traders selling alcohol with an alcohol content of 5.5 degrees or more for on-site consumption, alcohol traders Those with alcohol content below 5.5 degrees must register with the Economic Office or the Economic and Infrastructure Division at the district level. According to this regulation, although traders do not need to apply for a license to sell alcohol for on-site consumption as before, they still have to register with state agencies about their alcohol sales activities.
Fee for applying for a license to sell alcohol for on-site consumption in 2021
New traders that trade in alcohol with an alcohol content of less than 5.5 degrees and traders who sell alcohol with an alcohol content of 5.5 degrees or more for on-site consumption do not have to go through the procedures for applying for a license as before. Therefore, there is no fee to register for the sale of alcohol for on-site consumption in 2021.
Conditions for alcohol business in the sale of alcohol for on-site consumption
– Being an enterprise, cooperative, union of cooperatives or business household established in accordance with law.
– Having the legal right to use a fixed business location, a clear address and having a registration for the sale of alcohol for on-site consumption with the Economic Office or the Economic and Infrastructure Division of the district where the trader is located.
– Liquor for on-site consumption must be supplied by a merchant with a License to manufacture, distribute, wholesale or retail alcohol.
– In case a trader self-produces alcohol for sale on the spot, he/she must obtain an industrial alcohol production license or a manual alcohol production license for business purposes according to the provisions of this Decree.
When meeting the above conditions, traders can apply for a license to sell alcohol for on-site consumption.
Procedure for issuance of License to sell alcohol for on-site consumption
To register to sell alcohol for on-site consumption issued by the District Economic Office, traders need to carry out the following procedures:
Step 1: Submit application to District Economic Office:
